Well we moved to Thunder Bay in July of last year. Going from living an hour away from my folks to 22hrs hasn't been as hard as I thought. We have been making our own traditions here in regards to holidays & truthfully it has been nice just to hang out & not have to go anywhere! Of course we miss everyone, but things are good here.

We are planning a trip out west in July. I will drive the kids (by myself!). And then DH will join us a couple weeks later. We will then make our way to Abbotsford and spend some time with family & friends there. And make our way back home thru the States. I plan to do some major grocery shopping before coming back.

Weight loss wise I am up. Waaaayyyy up. DH wants to do South Beach again. I don't know. Not feeling it ya know? Maybe I just need to drag the book out again & start planning.

Ramble

So DH is in Thunder Bay. He has been there since May 1 & will be back here May 18 (for the long week-end). Meanwhile it is just the kidlets & I. No home purchased in Thunder Bay yet; although he has seen one really good prospect and there may be another one coming up soon. Our home here has not sold & I could care less. We have a buy out plan with his company for a really decent amount.

This single parenting gig is hard. I miss having a "wing man"! My hat off to all the single parents out there!

We have discovered that Monkey B is not Autistic or Asperger's. Or anywhere on the spectrum. Just the ADHD with some speech and comprehension delays.

Trying out the 17 Day Diet. Started yesterday. So far it seems ok. I like that I get fruit-unlike South Beach phase one. Let you know how it goes!

Big changes are a happening!

Been a looonnngggg time!

Last post was in September & here we are in March!

111 days of consecutive snow on the ground here in cowtown! I am soo done with winter! I am tired of the windchills and driving on ice & snow! Not to mention that it has been too cold for the kids to play outside.

So there have been some big changes round these parts.

My grandmother passes away in January. I was fortunate that I got to spend some time with her to tell her how much I loved her. She was 91 and I miss her so.

Monkey B has an appointment in a couple weeks to see what else is going on. We are thinking Aspergers.

And DH accepted a new position and we are moving to Thunder Bay! Yikes! I have always lived in the same province. And neither of us has been to Thunder Bay. But it looks lovely in the pictures we have seen. He starts May 1 and we aim to be out there @ April 25 or so. And hope to do a house hunting trip end of this month. Just have to find someone to stay with the kids.

My parents are not happy at all. And while I don't expect them to be overjoyed, less guilt would be nice. Mom is saying how Dad can't fly and she doesn't want to drive (it would be @ 2-3days). Sorry but that is something you guys have to deal with. Can't (and won't) live my life by what other people are willing or not to do. FYI in-laws are already planning a trip out this summer and they are already 12 hrs away from us now so they have even further to go!

Anyway lots to catch up on gotta go & do some more purging of crap!

Where did summer go?

Why is it with the kids back in school I am busier than before? Seems I spend most of my day in the car picking up and dropping kids and doing errands. And when I am home it is time to play catch-up with house keeping and laundry. But I know I am not the only Mom to feel this way.

The boys' birthday was good. We had their big party 10 days after their actual birthday due to my Mom's chemo. And now I am discovering the joy of stepping on those tiny little lego pieces!

Been busy with Monkey B. Doc appointments, speech appointments and trying to get his IPP set-up. I just want to get the poor kid the help he needs!

Hamster is potty trained!!!! Yay!!! We have done 7 straight years of diapers in this house. Yes you read that right. 7. Straight. YEARS! And while he is not too keen on going to pre-school (oh the tears!) He seems to have fun while there.

Peanut is loving Kindergarten. He is just so excited to go everyday!

We have both older boys in Beavers. Hoping the social interaction helps Monkey B. And gives them both a sense of community. Besides they look adorable in their vests and hats!

Weather here in Alberta has sucked the last few weeks. Rain and cold (& sometimes snow!!!). Looking good for this week-end though. Having a garage sale and hoping to get rid of a lot of toys. Sad to get rid of the baby toys though. Not so sad to see the loud, noisy ones go!

My Mom is done her chemo and is doing better. It was a tough summer for everyone. We were up there quite often for DH to mow their lawn (think acerage!)

Off to take Peanut to K! Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!

August post

Well since I seem to be posting once a month, here is my August post! (Once kidlets are back in school I will try to post more)

The twins turn 7 tomorrow. 7! It seems impossible to me. I can clearly remember them like this:

And here they are almost 7 yrs later:

Even though they were born at the same time (one minute apart!). They each have their own distinct personalities. They do things their own way and in their own time. They like different things and have different friends.

Happy Birthday!

And yeah, whatever

Hey wanna know a way to guarantee a wait in your pediatricians office of atleast an hour?
Bring all 4 kids with you! Oh and make sure that one of them poops (preferably the one in diapers) and forget to bring in a clean pull-up and wipes. And while they probably had something in his size you were so ticked at wating for 75 minutes that you said to hell with it and waited to change him in the car. (love ziploc bags!)

Anyway the appointment was for Monkey B. The Vyvanse just didn't seem to be working as well. Switched him to Biphentin and it is like he is on no meds. Back to the ped next week.

Been doing some camping. Cooking easy freezer meals for my folks. And generally trying to remain sane.

Quit WW again, decided just to stay fat forever.

House is still not sold. Market sucks right now.

My Mom has started chemo. She had her second treatment yesterday. Had her head shaved last week and got her wig fitted. Looks really good. I am thinking that my next tatoo might be a pink ribbon, but not sure where to place it. My brother has not talked to my parents in a month (they are always the ones to call him & are sick of it). He is a douche bag.

Going camping to Waterton National Park this week-end. Should be good.

Busy, busy, busy

That has been my life for the past few weeks. Oh and throw in a couple colds as well. Just to make things extra special.

My Mom is slowly coming to terms with the mastecotmy. She goes next week to see the oncologist. And find out what the course of treatment will be.

DH had a confrence in Banff last week. He managed to get one room that had 2 queen beds with a third in a loft. So my Mom came with us and off we went. The boys had a blast. Monkey B loved the museums we went to. And there was a playground not even a block away from our hotel.

We came back on the Friday and had enough time to do a couple loads of laundry before heading to the farm. My Dad held an auction on June 7 in which he was getting rid of all his heavy equipment (Backhoe and min-cats) as well as all his tools. Not to mention alot of over stuff. So I cooked and cleaned and DH along with one of my BIL and a few friends helped get everything in order. It made for a tiring week-end, but worth it.

I am getting tired of Weight Watchers. I just can't get excited about it anymore. Wondering if anyone has any advice about a program they love?
