Weigh-in

So I went to weigh-in this morning. Down .2lbs. Now I could get down about "only losing .2lbs", but I am looking at it this way; I am down a total of 4lbs. That is 4lbs of fat that is not coming back! I really wanted to stay for the meeting, but Hamster had a bit of a nap in the car on the drive there and woke up in a not so good mood.

For lunch I found a recipe for Bok choy salad. I had some baby bok choy that I thought I would use. Tried it, didn't like it. I found the raw bok choy too bitter and the dressing needed something. Oh well live and learn. On the other hand my BBQ chicken sandwich was delicious. And I am satisfied even without that salad.

I found a recipe for Roasted Green beans that I am going to try tonight. Hopefully they turn out better. Not sure what else I am going to make though. Maybe a grilled filet and baked potato.

Speaking of filets, I love to go shopping early in the morning on weekdays. I mean after I drop the kidlets off at school. Our Superstore marks down meat and you gotta get there early. I picked up a bunch of beef tenderloin the other week. I figured that $4 for 2 filets wasn't a bad price. And they are on the smaller side. Popped the bunch of them right in the freezer (they were already vacuumed packed). Also out Superstore has recently put in a whole organic section. I was so happy to see that. Now I don't buy alot of organic items, but now they have a great selection. Especially with the fresh and frozen food. Oh and Larabars!!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

H1N1

Yup this is what we have been dealing with since Halloween. Or atleast "influenza-like symptoms", as they don't test for it unless you are hospitalized. But our doc said that given the fact that they aren't seeing any of the seasonal flu yet, we probably had H1N1. Now we all did get the vax which is why it probably didn't hit us that hard. But we kept the kids out of school all last week. And it was a loooonnnnggg week. Especially since none of us could go anywhere. DH was even off work for that time. Poor guy had it worse than the rest of us. So the kids are back to school and they are very happy for it. So am I!

Hamster turns 2 this week. My baby is a toddler now! Hopefully everyone else in my family who is sick is recovered to come to his party this week-end. I told DH that I made the decision that we will just order pizza. Now this is a first for me. For all of my kids parties I have done all the food. And always end up with tons of left-overs. So I figured that since I am not sure who all can make it yet we will just order pizza. Although I do plan on making a nice salad as well. But this way I will not be stressing about prep.

Halloween was fun. The kids had a blast. My parents came down-in costume no less! And the boys loved it! Of course they also loved the big bag of treats for each of them. Needless to say we didn't do much Trick or Treating. But just enough that they boys had fun.

My kids and nieces and nephew

My Dad as Darth Vader (first time I have ever seen him in costume!)

My Aunt as a witch my Mom a clown

Hamster loved Papa's Darth Vader mask and light saber

See that big Halloween bag on the table? Yeah each of my kids got one of those from Nana. Thankfully it wasn't all candy.

Hamster as Elmo (I apologize for the blurry pic)

Lost 3.8lbs my first week back at WW. Of course I missed last weeks meeting. Wanted to go this morning but there was only an 8am meeting. Kinda hard when kids start school at 8:20am. But I will go to the 9:15am one tomorrow. Thought about going tonight but I think DH and I will be too bagged.

Off to catch up with everyone!

Happy Halloween!

OK so it isn't until tomorrow, but deal with it! LOL

The kidlets are all excited about dressing up. Well Hamster just likes to drag his Elmo costume along. So we have an Elmo, an Ironman, a Storm Trooper and Lightining McQueen pit crew. My parents are coming down tomorrow and I know my Mom is looking forward to taking them Trick or Treating. I am looking forwatd to her popcorn balls! Anyway we will go around our cul-de-sac as a family and then Mom and I will take the 3 big boys out in the neighborhood. Leaving DH and Hamster to hand out candy.

Speaking of DH, how wonderful is this. He stood out in the cold for 4 and a half hours yesterday in line for the H1N1 vaccination. I spent 3 hours in the van with the kids. Secretly I think he got the better deal! So we are all vaccinated and the kids will be getting the second dose in 3 weeks. My arm hurts like a mother though!

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween! I will be in a popcorn ball coma on Sunday!

-18C!!!!!

That was the temp with the windchill this morning. Holy Frig!

Thankfully (I guess) all the kids are off from school. So I didn't have to take them out this morning. Yup they don't go back until next Wednesday. The Monkey's are really enjoying Grade one so far. And I am really glad that they are seperated this year. Peanut no longer cries when I drop him off at Pre-school. Heck half the time I don't even get a wave! Glad to know that he is enjoying himself though.

Hamster is heading into the "Terrible Twos". Oh the tantrums he can throw! Some are quite funny as he makes fists and then smacks his thighs and growls. Sounds and looks almost Hulk-like. Hard to believe that he will be 2 next month. My baby is no longer a "baby" :(

Went to see my Grandma last week-end. It is sad to see how much she has aged in 2 weeks. She is much more hunched over now. And she also has Alzheimers. What a horrible disease. She no longer knows the boys or DH and sometimes only me. She no longer knows where she lives and keeps thinking that there are 2 men in her suite. It is just incredibly sad.

It is only 11am

I have already done 2 loads of laundry. I have supper in the slow cooker. A big pot of soup on the stove and have made 24 sausage patties. And Hamster is down for his nap.

What to do with the rest of my day?

I watched about the first 45 min of Biggest Loser last night. OMG the woman who lost her family, I can't imagine. I was bawling. And I thought I kinda unfair that the 2 who were in the hospital got stuck being partners. Although they do have that in common now (sarcasm). But I guess the other players viewed them as weak.

And I really wanted to go to McD's for breakfast. I mean really wanted to. But I came home and made my own sausage muffin for only 5pts! Yay me!

The soup I have cooking is a ham vegetable one. Never made it before. Smells good though. I know DH won't eat it so I am just going to freeze it in single servings for my lunches.

Tried the new flatbread from Subway yesterday. Yummy! I liked it way better than their bread (which I find too dry sometimes). And is only about 1.5pts more than the wheat bread.

And Hamster climbed out of his crib last night. I guess the baby days are over :(. Be happy when the diaper days are over. 6+years of diapers and I am more than done!

Fringe is on tonight! Can't wait!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Could hear a pin drop....

It is sooo quiet here right now. The twins are in school and Peanut is at pre-school. Hamster is watching Spongebob (Bad Mommy!). And I have finally had my coffee.

Poor Hamster doesn't really know what to do with himself. Except play with all his brother's toys!

So I re-joined WW a couple weeks ago, but due to conflicting things was unable to get to a meeting last week. I hope to hit the early morning Saturday one. Also I was really bad last week and didn't want to see the number. I journalled for a whole 2 days. Big whoop. Well that has changed. I went out & bought a new journal from Chapters as I find the WW ones too tiny. And have resolved to write the good, the bad and the ugly in it. So far so good.

Filling out forms for Monkey B's evaluation. Some of the questions they ask! And I honsetly can't remember when he said his first word or crawled. It was 6 yrs ago! But I will figure it out (I have it written down on old calenders).

I tried one of the new Smart Ones soups. The Harvest vegetable (I think the one with vegetables and rotini). Gross. Bleh. Yuck
The breakfast sandwich was ok though. Better than McDonalds. Although I really need to make some more suasage pattys and then I just make my own.

Well gotta run and pick up Peanut. Hope everyone has a great day!

I Blinked......

Happy 6th Birthday!
